Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination

The Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination (CAPE) is a Caribbean Examinations Council post secondary qualification in which courses are offered in one unit or two unit structures with three modules each.

There are three types of certification under the CAPE qualification include the award of a certificate which shows the completed CAPE units; a CAPE diploma which is awarded to students who have completed at least six units and the CAPE Associate degree awarded on the completion of seven cluster units.

One of the main features of the Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination is that it is equivalent to the United Kingdom’s Advanced Level Qualifications. To gain entry into universities in the Caribbean and the United Kingdom, students should attain a minimum of six CAPE units.
