The Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) examinations are administered by the Caribbean Examinations Council and offered at the general and technical proficiency levels in thirty-three subject areas.
Subjects are within the major subject groups of Arts and Humanities, Business and Human Development Studies, Mathematics and Science and Technical Studies and Creative Arts.
The examinations in each of the subject areas are assessed using a six-point grading scheme. Overall grades attract ratings from 1 through to 6 and profile grades range from A to F.
The Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate was designed to satisfy the matriculation requirement for four year programmes at universities, entry requirements to community colleges and colleges and tertiary institutions.
