The Caribbean Vocational Qualification is a Caribbean Examinations Council competency based model that includes training, assessment and qualification.
It is based on a framework that has five levels namely Directly Supervised/ Entry – Level Worker, Supervised Skilled Worker, Independent Skilled Worker, Specialised Worker and Managerial Worker.
Candidates hoping to achieve the Caribbean Vocational Qualification must demonstrate competence in attaining specific occupational standards. The Caribbean Association of National Training Agencies (CANTA), with approval from CARICOM developed benchmarks and specifications of expected work performance.
National Training Agencies are located in all participating countries and are a contact point between the approaches in assessing competences and the mandate of the Caribbean Examinations Council.
